Lyø - Havørred Fyn Hotspot nr. 80
Lyø offers fine stretches to the south, west and north, depending on the wind direction. The island is rarely overcrowded, but often generous with sea trout – especially in winter and autumn.
The same ferry sails to Lyø and Avernakø, and it can be difficult to decide which island to get off at. If the wind is in the western corner, Lyø is not the best choice. Eastern or northern winds, on the other hand, are the real deal.
When you go ashore on Lyø, you have two options. You can drive across the island to the long, varied fishing stretch on the south coast with small mussel reefs and bathtubs. Or you can turn west and try the rocky coast below the low cliffs on the west side of the island.
In winter and autumn, you even have a third option: Lyø Trille, the northern tip of the island - see pitch 81.
There are rarely other fishermen, but on the other hand there are many sea trout to be found at Lyø's beautiful coastal pitches.
