In the archipelago, six kilometers south of Faaborg, lies the elongated island of Avernakø, offering a true symphony of sea trout spots. The south coast features cliffs, large stone reefs, and deep water. The north side is shallower with striking points, troughs, eelgrass, and mussel beds. In fact, the entire island is one continuous sea trout stretch with good chances everywhere. Avernakø is therefore an ideal choice if you’re traveling with others – and perfect for a multi-day trip. There are good accommodation options. The trip can be planned well in advance without knowing the wind direction, as you’ll always find shelter and great fishing spots regardless of where the wind blows. A car or bike is necessary to experience the whole island. Best wind direction: fishing possible in all directions.
